Funds will be available to support the participation of graduate students and postdocs that might otherwise be unable to attend. If you wish
to be considered for travel support, please complete the Travel Award Application by May 31, 2018. You are not guaranteed that you will
receive the amount you ask for on the application. No more than two people from the same lab will be eligible for travel awards. Recipients
of travel awards will receive a check at the meeting.
DeLill Nasser Award for Professional Development in Genetics
Graduate student and postdoctoral GSA members are eligible to apply for this award to support travel costs for national and international meetings
and laboratory courses, including the International Xenopus Conference. The award is named for long-time GSA member and National Science
Foundation Program Director in Eukaryotic Genetics, DeLill Nasser. It is given in recognition of the critical role she played in research
and for her love of genetics. Visit the award website for more information.
Awards will be given for the best poster presentations by GSA student members. If you are a Genetics Society of America member, the first AND
presenting author on the abstract, and an undergraduate or graduate student you may nominate your poster for an award. The following prizes
will be awarded: 1st place - $300, 2nd place - $200, 3rd place - $100. Both scientific merit and clarity of presentation will be taken
into account. Winners will be announced at the conference. PIs and Postdocs who are GSA members can indicate when they register if they
would like to help with judging.
GSA Undergraduate Travel Awards
GSA Undergraduate Travel Awards are available to promote excellence in undergraduate research and education. This award will provide travel
support to undergraduate GSA members who will be presenting research findings at a GSA conference.
